Layout drawings don't show views.

We am having a problem with placed drawings on layouts disappearing until we do an update at which time they show until we work on another part of the file and switch back to the layout. The title still shows and we can select the drawing but the information it contains is not visible and this is every view on every sheet. This problem makes it impossible to view information on layout sheets when in teamwork if you are not signed into the sheets since you can't update info if you aren't signed into the sheet. I can't seam to find a button to turn this "feature" off so any help would be appreciated. Also, the drawing frames are not showing, regardless of if the drawing is updated or not. Please help!

Thanks Thomas....I had kinda suspected that but didn't pursue it because everything was working fine until the past couple of days.
I also attribute this to my pure ignorance not to pay attention to file naming conventions. Since it was something that was put in place long before I took over.

Djordje, I haven't either. I learned this the hard way in the 80-90ties. Sloppy programming of Mac versions it was.

I'd just like to add that we haven't really nailed this bug yet. This MIGHT be the cause but I can't be sure with the evidence provided. There might be some other issue with the file in question.

Thomas,

Just to let you know everything seems to be back on track again with all of my external links that are feeding into my teamwork file.
For future reference if I see [ ] show up again in any file naming conventions I will immediately delete them. (Not to mention !@#$%^&*(){}\?/<>:;'"•¶§∞¢£™¡º=+)

Cheers!

Details that once lived on a detail sheet disappear or become empty.
On a similar theme. I have 4 details on the layout sheet. All is perfect on screen but when I print to printer or PDF, 3 of them disappear.

Accidently found a fix. Moved the one detail which showed up, to a different position on the layout and published again. Still the same detail showed in the new position, but not the others, but could see one of the disappearing details underneath. So put it back to where it was, stretched its frame over the whole sheet and the other three details published as normal.

Using a grid layout, have exactly the same master elsewhere in the set and they all behave as normal. An obvious cause?
