Partial Structural Display problem doors/windows

with Partial structural display. I can't figure out why the doors and windows are still showing up when I select "core of load bearing elements only"

i checked the classification of the window and door elements. they are non-loadbearing

You cannot do that with Partial Structure Display setting.
Check the "Hide on Floor Plan" option for Doors/Windows in the Model View Options Dialog.

If you are a former AutoCAD User, there is a book called ArchiCAD for AutoCAD Users, which tells you all about what ArchiCAD terminology or concept is the equivalent of which of that in AutoCAD. It may be useful to you:

okay. thank you. but I would prefer to leave autocad in my rear view mirror. 😃

so far i've been using bobrow's mastertemplate and i'm finding that very effective. albeit with interesting hangups based originating from ignorance, like the one i just posted.
