Problem printing to scale in plotmaker

i have imported .dwg files into plotmaker. Everyhting fits on the layout but then prints off the screen when the plot at 100% box is checked. i have put shrink page to layout, and there is where I have the problem. I don't know what else to do. Here is a screen shot of the setup.

You could try the "Use margins of device" button (my preference), and/or increase the size of your margins in the Master's settings. ( I fumbled my way around this, so hopefully someone else will come along with a more technical answer ).

It is usually a good idea, if you print from a roll, to specify Oversize paper. Then your margins can be accommodated.

i have already set my margins to 0" all the way around on an Oversized D sheet. But, when it prints, the scale is way off. Using an 1/8" scale, at 20' it's reading 17'-6".

Why will it not let me scale to 100%? I just printed one drawing out out at 95.5%, but anything larger is put on 4 separate pages.

You must start by making all items on the MASTER layout fit within the printable area of your printer. Test-print the master to check.

Then use Margins of device when you print. If your layouts fit you should be able to scale to 100%.

This applies also to pdf-creating, for example.

I must be doing something wrong, but I have followed all the advice and still it ends up on more than one page.

I feel your pain! Having spent many happy hours trying to totally understand the process, here are a few more observations: Since your "fit to page" scale is only 92+- % it appears that there is a disconnect between the printer/plotter set up and the way PM is interpreting the elements of your sheet. Try first as was said to set your master to the size and config of your plotter. Then make sure that there aren't any dingles hanging out beyond the printable area. Next make sure each element that makes up the file fits in the space available. Check that all correct layers are showing and need to.

I have made so many errors in setting up a sheet that I should be punished - but alas there are many here that have helped clear up the confusion.

Last - if all else fails send me the file and I will attempt to figure it out.

this is the key to getting it working!

you have to ensure that EVERYTHING on the master is within the printable area, even the handles of a text box when all of the text within it fits ok.
