Publisher automates consistent output of Views and Layouts into repeatable “sets,” so you can republish with one click as your model changes, preserving output settings per set and per item.

Publisher Sets live in your project and reference Views or Layouts as shortcuts, ensuring updates flow through without manual re‑selection each time.

  • Open the Organizer (Palettes > Organizer or from Navigator) and switch to the Publisher Map to access or create Publisher Sets.
  • In the Organizer, keep the Publisher Map on the right, and View Map/Layout Book on the left.

Create new Publisher Set

  • Click the “Level up” button to see all the Publisher Sets.
  • Create a Publisher Set by clicking the New Publisher Set button (+ icon at the bottom).
  • Open Publishing Method to define if you want to print, save, plot, or create a BIMx file.
  • Setup where to publish, the path.
  • Select between:
    • Create single file: Save the entire Publisher Set to a single file. The available formats are PDF and BIMx Hyper-model.
    • Create a real folder structure: Save your files in a hierarchical structure.

    • Create flat file structure: Save your files in a flat structure.

Add Views and Layouts, define file formats

  • In Publisher Set Properties, choose Save as the publishing method, then.
  • Open the newly created Publisher Set
  • Create folders for a better structure
  • Select Layouts, Views, or entire Layout Book folders on the left.
  • Use Add Shortcut to create linked items in the Publisher Set on the right, so future additions to those folders flow into the set automatically.
  • Avoid dragging without creating shortcuts if you expect new Layouts to auto‑appear; Add Shortcut is the method that maintains this link.
  • Select items or folders in your Publisher Set.
  • Use the Format tab to pick the output type; available formats depend on whether you’re publishing a 2D/3D view or Layouts.

Common output formats

  • PDF: Access Document Options for color/grayscale/black and white and PDF Options.
  • DWG/DXF: Choose a DXF/DWG Translator to control layer mapping, scaling, attributes, and paper spaces; when a folder of Layouts is set to DWG, enable “Merge to one DWG file” to create one DWG with multiple Paper Spaces (one per Layout).
  • IFC: Choose an IFC Translator for Export to control the content of the published output.

Publish correctly

  • Choose which item(s) to publish.
  • Setup at the the bottom the panel if the entire set or just some items should be published:
    • Entire set: the entire active publisher set.

    • Selected items: Only items currently selected in the active publisher set

    • Layouts in current Transmittal Set: All layouts of the active publisher set that are part of the current Transmittal Set. (Such Layouts are listed in green.)

  • Click Publish.
