Section linework

Hello,

I have the following issues in archicad 26:

First, while creating a section, a thick line appears behind the window reveal. The line has the same thickness as the wall’s cut line, even though in my composite wall the insulation is set to a lighter line weight. I’m not sure why this heavy line is showing behind the reveal. Has anyone encountered this before or knows what might be causing it? Is there a setting I should adjust to fix this?

Second, regarding window frames in section, the frame currently appears as one uniform element even thought I have set it to maximum detail... Ideally, I would like to show more detailed linework. Is there a way in Archicad to display these different lines and details in the window frame within sections?
Any suggestions or settings I should check would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

in your section marker settings, make sure the uniform pen is unchecked for cut elements:

Doors and windows suck. They always have. Even third-party plug-ins, like Cadimage; while they allow for more divers configurations and operation profiles, only give you 2-3 rectangles stacked on each other.

In industry standards, doors and windows only allow for LOD 200 (or less).

If you want to show 3/4"+ scale levels of detail, one option is to create custom 2d objects of your jamb, sill, head profiles from teh manuf. cut sheets (bring in line work, clean up, file > libraries and objects > save selection as > object). In your live section view, set a "wall section" model view option that is set to show doors and windows as opening only. Then place your custom objects on a wall section annotation layer in place.
LOD 350+ is generally best achieved in 2d still. I know there are people out there cranking out LOD400 models... but IME, those files are slow, cumbersome, and tedious to maintain and update with design changes.

thank you, I like this workaround. Any idea why the line "behind" the window reveal is the same thickness as the wall's core?

did yo check your section marker? if the uncut pens have an override in the section marker settings, they could be thicker than in the window/wall settings.
Otherwise, check the window's pens, the walls uncut pens.
Check graphic overrides and renovation filter overrides to make sure you are not overriding any pens.
...
the good and bad thing about archicad is that there are always dozens of ways to get anything done. which means when you are trouble shooting, you have to check dozens of things to fix anything.
