Setting a layer for a .JPG object in Plotmaker

We have a plotmaker layout which has a number of imported .JPG files. It would be handy to switch off the layer which these .JPG files are on - as this would speed up draft plots.

Is it possible to assign imported files to a layer for this purpose?

To my knowledge this is not possible in 9. Version 10 will add this capability. You could bring the JPG files into Archicad, create a layer combination and view related to these items and then control their visibility from the layer control in Archicad. Not as simple I know, but it will do the trick.
