I have a file that is nearly 20 Gigabytes.
So I created a file where I imported some Autocad authored information that contained some images in the background.
The file started out at 350megabytes then slowly grew every-time I published or opened the file from 350mb to 1.5gb to 9gb to 12 to 18gb.
Recently what I did to curb the issues was rebuild the file by exporting the dwg xref information out as modules. Didn't know what else to do.
The odd things are how the file will grow by itself. I have 60gb of free space on my hard drive and each time I open that file I will surely run out of memory working in it. I'm running out of hard drive space while the file is open. I can no longer save in the file without it failing to save. Another oddity is that the images were all named the same thing even though they were different images. The images are very large aerial views that are 50mb each and there are 7 of them. Thus it initially made sense that the file was nearly 400mb with 7x50mb images. I deleted my BIM Server and instantaneously lost 5gb from the file.
It's almost as if it is acting like a Teamwork project without actually being one.
After creating the modules and breaking a the images out the file has stabilized somewhat but then again I have yet to publish in this version. Will let you know if I see any crazy file growth.
Ahhhh!
