Surface labelling for objects in v19?

I recently tried using the ArchiCAD out-of-the-box surface label to read surfaces of an object, but it doesn't work. Wishful thinking.

Is there any way to do this?

We're really wanting to embrace the power of labels in v19 to get as much BIM info into our labels & do away with 'dumb text', but our joinery detail drawings (cabinets etc.) are currently one of the few remaining places we can't get BIM surface labeling.

Objects (as in GDL objects) don't have surfaces like elements (walls and slab) do.
So you will need you label to read the material parameters of the object (if that is possible - I haven't played with labels that much).
