Unable to apply line weight

I have tried severally to apply line weight but it's not working. Even the line weight settings doesn't pop up

We might need some more context as to what you are trying to achieve.

Perhaps some pictures of what you want to get, and what is showing up.

 If you need to see the line weight on screen just go to the menu "View / Screen view options / Real line weight".
