I don't understand this (see attachment) i need to show the planned status of this detail, but it won't let me change it. when i do i get this msg. i cannot get the detail to show any elements because they are all new construction, and the detail was taken from an elevation that won't allow me to change it's renovation filter from existing. the instructions don't make sense to me. can someone tell me the exact steps i need to take to change the status of the view please.

The difference seems to be whether the detail marker is a Source Marker or Linked Marker. A detail using Source Marker does not recognise different renovation filters, but a Linked Marker does. Maybe someone with more knowledge and understanding of the intricacies of these detail types can explain further.....
