Zone fill does not appear correctly

Here is a problem I'm having in AC22. See image below.
In short the zone fills only show up within walls - and not in the room itself. Note these are light coloured screen fills and typically will show anything in front or behind.
No graphic overrides, no SEOs.
How can I get the zone fill to show up normally?
