is there a way to set dimension text size to inches rather than points?

Dimensions are always fixed, so the answer is no.

It is easy if you remember that 1 inch = 72 Pts.

Then you can do the math for the rest:

1/2" = 36Pt
1/4" = 18Pt
1/8" = 9Pt
3/32" = 6.75Pt

etc.

Why would you want to? Do you want them to remain the same size in relation to your drawing?

yes thats what i need...i dont mind doing the math, but after all...isnt that one of the MANY reasons we use computers today?
