layer is hidden with core only

why does my grid dimension layer disappear/become hidden when I change structure display from "entire model" to "core only"?

Each partial structure display has its own dimensions.

A dimension you place in one display option will not show in any other.

You have to dimension in each display option.

yeah, I've been floating this as a request for years. Its weird that dimensions are tied to partial structure display, but they are. Its even weirder that you can not reassign the partial structure display a dimension is tied to after its been placed.

you can set the dimensions to unlinked, then cut them, switch the partial structure display, and paste them... but then they are no longer linked to model/drafting elements; so it's usually a matter of throwign them out and starting over.
i have never seen the grid elements hidden by partial structure display or a layer for that matter. I assume it's just the dimensions, and not the entire layer that are going missing?
