opening archived .lay files with PM9

Anonymous
Not applicable
I have recently had occasion to try and open a few old layout files done with PM3.1 (and earlier, even) from a year or two ago. We have always been careful to break the links to bind the pmk's into the drawing.

However, I have been disappointed to find that even though drawing usage shows the pmk's as embedded, they still show up as blank boxes as if the file cannot be loaded. <see attached pdf screenshot>

Sometimes I can open the pmk and view the extents of the drawing behind the viewport, but other times I can't. Nothing I do seems to bring the orphaned pmk back onto the layout.

Anybody know what's going on?

Thanks
Wes

If you can open the PMK, do so, save it to disk, and relink. It should work.
