Publishing problem in Plotmaker

I have encountered a problem - and hope one of you guys knows the answer.

I have a layout book containing 20 drawings (promised by email for tonight). When I go into 'Publisher', only 6 of the 20 views are showing in the left hand column - so I can only drag over and publish these 6 views. How do I populate the list in the left hand column with the other 14 views?

In the meantime I'm going to have to 'print' them as PDF files - one by one.

In the Plotmaket Publisher, instead of dragging over individual layouts, try dragging over the Layout Book name all the way at the top of the column. This will put the whole book into your Publisher set.

Why one by one?

As Tom said, pull the whole layout book over, creating the new Publisher set, specifying Save file as the output mode, folder to save to, PDF as the file type. Choose whether you want individual sheets or a whole book.

Done.

No joy, I'm afraid - unless I'm missing something very obvious.

The views display in a 'tree' structure in the left hand column which reflects the 'Tree by Subsets' view in Navigator. (This structure was set up by a colleague who has since left the office). In Navigator, one of the subset folders has 14 views; but in Publisher, this folder shows only 1 view.

When I pull the whole layout book over (as Tom suggested), the same structure now displays in the right hand column, still showing only 1 of the 14 view in that particular folder.

So I can convert this 1 view and the views in the other folders to DWGs or PDFs - but the only way I can email the other 13 views (unless 1 of you guys can solve this for me) is to PRINT them, saving them as PDFs - one by one - which is only a partial solution, because the recipients really want DWGs.

Create a new publishing set, the right pane will be clear. Drag the whole book from the left window, set the publisher set properties - Save files, the folder to save to, whether folders or not.

Then click on the layout book name in the right window, set the file type to DWG, set the Translator, and that should be it.

Practically, replace the PDF in my screen shot with DWG and it should work.

Sorry, Djorde, but it still didn't work. When I dragged the whole layout book across, the 13 views still weren't included in the subset.

What I had to do in the end was create a new layout book, and import all the views from the original layout book. Then everything behaved normally.

Cloning is the best way to go for most publishing viewsets IMHO. Then you know that any sheets that are later added (and of course deleted) will be reflected. Either way, you only need to set the top folder and everything within it uses the same settings.

Keep in mind that you don't have to publish the whole publishing viewset. You can set it to publish just the 'Selected Items'.
