splitting 1 zone into multiple zones

Please see attached. It is 1 big floor plan. I need to split it into several zones to get the square footage. is there a way to split it rather than manually adjusting the polylines? Thank you

You can use the split tool, but this can only split in a straight line.

If you have zone boundaries for your areas you can duplicate the zone - one for each required zone - and make sure the zone anchor point is inside the boundary of each area.
Then 'Update' the zones and they will resize automatically ( must not be manual zones).
Then all you have to do is re-name them.

It might be easier to just draw in the new zones.
