vertical reo rods in hatched block walls

Here is a simple problem. How do I add a verical reo. rod to the plan of a blockwork wall. The wall is a sectional plan of a 3D wall, hatched with the concrete block symbol. the rod is also a plan of a 3D rod. It is shown alongside the wall. But...I can't get it to show over the wall. I've tried bringing it to the front, checked the layers (same as the wall), or adding a 2D circle to represent the reo. because it doesn't need to be in 3D. It just doesn't show. It shows the position in a type of broken line when it is selected but disappears when I deselect it. How can I make it show?

And related, how does one create large circular dots to use in this cases when I only need a simple 2D representation?

Kees,

The building material of the rod should have a higher priority than the building material of the wall. Or alternatively, the layer intersection number of the rod should be different than that of the wall layer. You can also use the cylinder object from the library.

The Building Material strength for your rod (column) needs to be stronger that those used in the walls.
If you are just using a circle then the 'Bring to front' command should work.

If you still want a column for the rod use a Building Material with a high strength and an empty fill.
