view order logic

Hello,

I am semi-new to Archicad and there is still a logic i just dont get.

In the attached image, why is my lintel height roof seen below the side arched retaining wall, why it's well above???  It foring me to play with the display order and lots of people are telling me that they rarely use this display order???  i constantly have to adjust to and it's a headache...
