BIMx+Google Sheets to connect BIM modelers and architects

Diego Barreto
Certified Trainer

Our company (SAL.TE - SALA TÉCNICA SOB DEMANDA) helps architects who have not migrated to Archicad to have their projects developed in BIM. The architect creates and we develop. For this reason, it is common for conflicts to appear during the insertion of different disciplines.

When looking for a solution to improve communication between design architects and our BIM modelers, we inserted a direct connection to BIMx in our spreadsheet to view elements pending revision.

This idea was inspired by @tada and @Kotetsu entries, but applied to another context.

Also, to make it easier to visualize, we've applied each discipline's graphical overlays to the 3D. For example, Ceiling Plans connect with Ceiling 3D.

With these BIMx applications, we believe we can deliver a BIM design experience even for architects who have not yet migrated their tools and processes.

Archicad 27 promises direct annotation in BIMx for export in BCF. We are looking forward to it, but until then we create our connection via google sheets
