License Delivery maintenance is expected to occur on Saturday, November 30, between 8 AM and 11 AM CET. This may cause a short 3-hours outage in which license-related tasks: license key upload, download, update, SSA validation, access to the license pool and Graphisoft ID authentication may not function properly. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Check by script if window is cutted

Martin Walter
Enthusiast

I'd like to know if my custom window is cutted by the section view or no.

Is this possible? And can I get the angle between the cutting plane and the window or wall?

you can label cut windows in section; but I don't think there is any system global to identify windows with sections running through them. Maybe someone else can chime in if something like properties could be used as an identifying control, but I doubt that expressions come into play here. Maybe an expression to schedule elements by viewpoint?

In GDL you have GLOB_VIEW_TYPE which can tell you if an object is being displayed in a section.

But only when it is displayed in a section view.

It won't know there is a section passing through it in the plan view.

And it can't determine the angle of that section.

Maybe with an API (add-on) it would be possible, but I have no idea.
