the last version of the LP_XML_Converter on Windows was for Archicad 13.
There I created in the main folder where the Converter is located, 1 folder named "gdl", one folder named "xml". In the main folder I aditionally placed 2 file links.
Put the gdl file in the gdl folder and run the file link "... gdl2xml" not by double click, but by rightclick and run as admin.
GDL to XML goes visa verce.
