Edit 2d-symbol of created object

Hi!

I'm trying to create my own library object based on a morph cube. It's just a very simple object that should be a displayed as a cube in 3D and elevation but in plan I want it to show as a lamp symbol.

How do I edit the symbol visible in plan?

You are using the parameters incorrectly.

You need to be checking for the value of the parameter.

For a boolean it is 1 or 0 (on or off).

For a text parameter you need to be using the value typed into that text parameter - in tour case "SB"

For the boolean, you do not actually have to put the value, you can just write "IF [parameter] then". Using this same notation, you can utilise it within sums, usually to decide whether or not to add a value.

Very cool, everyone! I'm also trying to learn about object creation. Could someone help me? I tried to set a fixed representation — one for the floor plan and another for the elevation/section — but I can't get anything to show up in the elevation or section views at all. Is there something else I need to do? It seemed simple in the posts.

Hi everyone - As this thread has gotten deeply into GDL coding, just a reminder that there is a separate area of this Community for coding GDL objects, which covers almost all of the replies to this thread:

This "Libraries & Objects" forum is primarily about using library parts and managing libraries, and does include 'save as object' type objects.  The official description on his forum's page is "About Archicad and BIMcloud libraries, their management and migration, objects and other library parts, etc."

As soon as issues jump into creating or modifying GDL, the GDL forum is the right place to continue. 😀

PS I think the GDL forum is overlooked / not found, over and over, because it is "hidden" in the "Developer Hub" - yet nobody discussing GDL here would likely consider themselves "developers" and so likely never even looks at that menu.  In the "old" days, the GDL forum was part of the main Community... something that the Community team might want to reconsider.
