Layer Setting Bug

I am interested to know if someone has experienced this bug and if there is a quick solution.  I have only experienced this in ArchiCad 29.

When trying to change the layers visible using the layer combination nothing happens.

If you change the setting in the actual layer, it will only be temporary and will reset as soon as you use a layer combination

When you select the actual layer on the right it will show its settings in each of the layer combinations on the left.

So you need to select the layer you want to change and then change the settings in as many of the layer combinations on the left as you want.

That will set the properties for those layer combinations for when ever you use them.

This is "Typical"  in every version I've worked with.

What would cause it to revert back to Custom refusing to take on the layer combination

Because the "Archicad Layer" can never be turned off, then it automatically turns back on when you change the layer combination, hence showing "Custom" in the layer combination drop down.

You will have to manually make visible the  "Archicad Layer"  in each layer combination,

In the right column select the   "Archicad Layer" ,

Then in the left column click on the "eye" symbol for each layer combination- that automatically updates the layer combination to include the  "Archicad Layer"  turned on.

If that doesn't work, you may need to use the attributes manager to bring in a good copy of the layers/layer combinations.

That is a strange bug...how did you get the "Archicad Layer" turned off in the layer combinations to begin with, I thought it didn't allow that as  "Archicad Layer"  can never be turned off in a view?

Have you tried "Open & Repair selected file" (on a copy of this file, not to break a working file)

Does this happen in all AC29 files or just this one?

you should report it as a bug to your local reseller if it happens in more than 1 file.

So I selected each layer combination and each has the ArchiCad layer on, however, when I select the ArchiCad layer, all of the Layer combinations are off and refuse to change.  I cannot change the status of the ArchiCad layer.

I opened a new file using the standard template and there is no issue.
