I’ve been using iCloud on the Mac for years. I have the option where the Documents and Desktop folder remain fully synchronised all the time across all devices. I had an issue with AC24 I think where every time I save a number was appended to the file but I never had an issue with data loss or a scratch file being left behind. This seems to be fixed now with the newer versions of Archicad. However, Barry is correct in that Graphisoft’s advice is not to use cloud based storage.

I think it may just be luck sometimes and how fast Archicad can save the files and if cloud sync kicks in before it is done or someone else is messing with the file at the other end of the cloud.
Archicad has to create the scratch file (which we don't usually see), then rename the PLN as BPN and then save the scratch file as PLN.
Usually it is fairly quick.
But if it gets interrupted, I think that is when things go astray.
Also I think if you save in Archicad (this may trigger the cloud to sync straight away) and then quickly save again in Archicad, things might get messed up.
Just speculation of course.
If you need a cloud system for the files, use BIMCloud.

That looks like a scratch file where Archicad has tried to save and there has been an issue. Are you saving to a local disk or a cloud based storage?

You may be able to rename it and add .pln to the end to see if Archicad will open it. There will also be the autosave folder that may contain the last good save of the project if you haven’t relaunched Archicad. Even if you have it may still be worth checking. Do you know how to find the location of the autosave folder?

`Wonderful!!! resolved!! just renaming the file and .pln! like you have written...

Don't work directly in a cloud sync folder.
Work on the file on your hard drive or network and copy it to the cloud sync folder only when you want it to be synced.
