3D Connexion Space Navigator on a new PC

Just got a new workstation and cannot get my 3D Connexion Space Navigator to work in ArchiCAD.
In the control panel the mouse is clearly working - but does not do anything in ArchiCAD.
Ideas anyone?

However when I go to the 3d window the options are greyed out

and of course in the connexion software it works just fine!
