3D Connexion Space Navigator on a new PC

Just got a new workstation and cannot get my 3D Connexion Space Navigator to work in ArchiCAD.
In the control panel the mouse is clearly working - but does not do anything in ArchiCAD.
Ideas anyone?

You still haven't replied as to if it is Windows 64 that is the problem, or your Mac? (You have two machines in your signature.)

On the Mac 3Dconnexion preference panel, you can click on the Configure drop-down and then select "Add Application..." ... then navigate to your problematic version of ArchiCAD to select it and configure. Presumably this would also replace any existing config info.

Apologies Karl
The problem is at work on a Win 64 box.
Viewers, demo etc all work
Just ArchiCAD fails...

In case it helps,
I have the 3Dconnexion navigator plugged into a PC Windows 7 64 bits.
It works well with Archicad. I just wish it worked as well to zoom/pan the orthogonal views.

Haven't done anything special to make it work... pretty much plug & play.

Have you tried the "engineer's solution"? uninstall - re install AC?

Cheers

Thanks Nando
I guess I'll have to do that...nothing else works

(and FMI - Open BIM = 3 CAD packages? How do you work efficiently in 3 different packages? I'd love to hear some time (PM?) how you find them wrt each other?).

Sure!

Short answer: IFC formats.

But is not like we use all of them in the office, We are a mixed MAC (VectorWorks) and PC(Revit) office, and I run ArchiCAD for my own stuff.

Is an interesting exercise (mostly trial-error-research-try again) playing with IFC files and its many flavors.

this could be a good subject for a new post.

I had the same problem few weeks ago and resolved it.
But I don't remember exactly how...
I think I had first to toggle between "OpenGL 3D engine" and "internal 3D engine" in 3D windows Settings. an then open a 3D window...
Hope it will work for you.

Ciao

Hi rwallis,
I had the same problem... just like yours! It was solved with this new version of connections drivers, just a few days ago!
I did not uninstall it... just downloaded and reinstalled it...
Working fine now!
In deed this driver needs to be boosted essentially over the 2d views...
Cheers!
