Yes, it can be highly dependent on OS and Hardware. Eg. if it is a Mac, I would suspect this:

Also, in ARCHICAD 22 we upgraded the OpenGL Engine from v2.0 to v3.2, so make sure your GPU drivers are up-to-date! Also, if this is the source of the issue, then the vectorial 3D engine should still work.
Other than that, what you should do, is create logs of the freeze, and send it to your local technical support team so that they can analyze it.
