AC doors and windows disappearing

Using AC 8.1 doors or windows has been very frustrating. When adjusting them, stretching, changing parameters in plan, I find them disappearing on screen even in plan after rebuilding or refreshing the screen. Yet they show up in 3D just fine.

My work-a-round ( which is a complete waste of time ) is that I have to close the file, then restart the file, and then the parts show up as expected again.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

Is this a know bug?

Is there an updated AC 8.1 Library that I should be using?

BTW, I'm using AC 8.1 on OSX 10.3.3 on a G4 with 1.5 megs of RAM.

Thanks,

The SEO problem (the one I am aware of anyway) with doors (and perhaps windows) is in the coding of the library parts themselves and is not a bug in ArchiCAD. This would also affect anyone using the problem parts whether on Mac or PC. It is curious whether to call this a bug since the doors are just doing what they have been coded to do (become simpler when involved in an SEO). I am guessing that the author of the GDL just didn't expect the doors to inherit their SEO status from the wall they are in (perhaps this is a bug?). I am still not clear why doors should be coded to account for this anyway.

Mathew, not sure what problem you are talking about since it is not the same issue both Dave and I have written about.

I'm sure the problem you are writing about is very important, but perhaps could be listed in a seperate thread, only in an effort to perhaps receive clearer insight from others to both the problem you speak of, and the one I initiated in this thread.

I'm guessing you picked up on the first SEO comment thinking this is what the thread is about.

Sorry to be out of step here. You're right, I was responding to the SEO issue without going back to the start of the thread.
