License Delivery maintenance is expected to occur on Saturday, November 30, between 8 AM and 11 AM CET. This may cause a short 3-hours outage in which license-related tasks: license key upload, download, update, SSA validation, access to the license pool and Graphisoft ID authentication may not function properly. We apologize for any inconvenience.

AC9 sudden shut down

Anonymous
Not applicable
I'm guessing this has been talked about before, but I couldn't find it. My AC9 is shutting down very, very suddenly. I'm finding it happens mostly when I go to my Axonometry view or my perspective view. However, I have seen it happen a couple of times going to elevations.

We are talking about very, very sudden shut downs. No pausing, no stalling, no bug reports, no nothing. Just one second it is there and the next second it is totally gone and my computer is running as if nothing had happened.

I'm running a Dell Dimension 9100 with a 2.8G Dual Core Technology Processor with 1.5G of RAM. Windows XP, serice pack 2.

This has just started happening maybe within the last week. Any guesses? Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks.

It sounds like there might be a problem with a bad library part or inverted slab or something of that nature. Have you received any error messages prior to this?

Try marqueeing smaller areas of your model and generating 3D from it to find the part(s) of your model that are causing this behavior. If only some of your elevations are causing this then that is a good clue as to which part of the model may be problematic.

Which libraries and add-ons are you using?

mate,
it sounds to me like you need to get your graphic card drivers updated...
