Issue
ARCHICAD might crash on laptops with dual graphic cards during the starting process.
Cause
The NVIDIA Shim Driver stops which is a component of the Optimus technology. Optimus technology allows the system to automatically switch between the integrated and the dedicated video card in order to save battery power or when more graphics processing is needed.
Solution
Before ARCHICAD is started, the dedicated GPU must be selected. This can be done in NVIDIA Control Panel/Application profile settings:
