...because the identity of the developer cannot be confirmed.
The small print under that statement says “ArchiCAD Installer” is on the disk image “AC18-4006-USA.DMG”. Safari downloaded this disk image today at 10:46 PM from cache.graphisoft.com
Please help as I really need to get going with this program!
Thanks, Scott Miller
PS: I have OS X 10.9.5, 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 and a 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5
Try System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General: you can change the "Allow apps downloaded from:" preference, or if I remember correctly, there will be an option to open the app after getting that warning.

Also or in addition you can right click on the DMG and select "Open" and it will ask permission to open the file, select yes and you are good to go. If it indicates that it cannot be opened then you might need to re-download the file since it could be incomplete (use Command+I to get the info on the DMG and verify that file size is correct).
