Archicad 28 home screen delay

Hello everyone,

I'm experiencing a long delay in the HOME SCREEN menu when opening Archicad 28 and when deleting recent projects.

The same delay also occurs when I open the HOME SCREEN while working on a project.

Is anyone else facing these issues?

Nothing is fixed.

The same problem on my local machine. 5-10 min. to open new instance of AC28, though some seconds to open another existing project from open AC window.

Zoltan said it would be fixed in update 28.3.

We haven't had that update yet.

28.2.1 was release just a week ago.

So a little while longer I am afraid.

I went back to version 28.0 and everything works fine.

Maybe related to an update that reverted a "fix" to an issue that turned out to cause some other more problematic issues...

It wasn't fixed for me. I copy pasted the recent documents, did a preference clean, and pasted them back. Now they seem to load quickly. Though this is not explained anywhere.

Hi,

its still slow with the last hotfix 28.3.3.

I don't think it is the list of recent documents itself.

I think it is the preview images that are saved for every recent document.

These images only show in the start dialogue and there can be a number of images for each file.

Clearing the preferences clears these images.

Then pasting back the recent file list works and it will seem fast again.

Until you start opening those files and it builds up the images again.

I find you don't even have to save the file for those images to be created.

Just open the file from the list and it seems to take random screen shots of what you are working on.

I have worked on a file (just playing around in my template) and deliberately not saved it, but those images of what I was doing are in the start dialogue.

It would be nice then If we could have a setting in Work Enviroment under Data & Security or somewhere else, where we could turn off preveiws and a perhaps a button to purge these screenshots.

IMO the whole "Launch/Welcome Screen" is a complete waste of time and we should have the option to turn it off.

Same for "Action Center"…
