Archicad 9 Converter crashing

Hello

Archicad 9 Converter keeps on crashing on start and the Bug Report comes up but it also gives an error when I try to submit it. So I am posting it here.

This weekend, I had to replace my SSD hard drive & install Windows 11 Home from scratch along with all my software.

So I always install the Archicad 7, 9 & 10 Converters on my laptop by extracting the installation files to my Program Files / Graphisoft folder on C drive.

Archicad 7 & 10 start up fine but Archicad 9 gives me this error:
-------------------------------------
Program Compatibility Assistant
This app may not work correctly
ArchiCAD, Graphisoft
A driver is installed that causes stability problems on this version of Windows and it will be disables.
Check with your software/driver provider for an updated version.
-------------------------------------

I have Archicad 26 & 25 (incl updates) installed default with BIMx the License Manager that includes the Codemeter driver.

After getting this erros several times, I added the Archicad 9.exe file and the complete main Graphisoft folder to the "Allowed List" in my AVG anti-virus software in case it is blocked by that for some reason.

I hope this help you with identifying the compatibility issue.

My first question is do you need these translators?

Archicad current version can open file back to version 8.1

Do you really have files older than that, that you need to access?

If you do, the version 10 converter can read back to version 6.5

Version 7 converter can read back to version 4.1

So you don't really need version 9 converter at all.

So if 7 & 10 work, you are covered.

Windows 11 may well be the problem.

Have you tried changing its compatibility mode to Windows 8?

There are a few FAQs that may be of help.

Pay special attention to the second one I highlighted.

Thanks for your quick reply @Barry Kelly

Yes, you are tight. With v7 & v10 I am covered, sure. I actually do use them frequent enough to help clients (other users) with migrating older files.

I'll look into changing its compatibility mode to Windows 8, did not know about this for Windows 11, so thanks. The popup error gave this link as reference, hoping that will help "Your app doesn't work with your new version of Windows".

Can you please share the link to the FAQ page screenshot?

PS: Found it, all good thanks - https://graphisoft.com/downloads/fileconverter
