Seemingly at random, usually when I am not working with archicad I get a little hour glass symbol, and then the whole of archicad momentarily refreshes, like I am switching between applications, but of course I am not.
Does anyone have an answer to how I can stop this? It does actually interrupt partially completed commands, like drag a copy.personally i'd leave it well alone! you could try adjusting the setting in your 'Data Safety' tab of the work environment's user preferences . . .

Why can it justnotdo that?

God what a nuisance that is, have set it to 30 seconds, I'd rather lose work than have that happen all the time.It can mate - you can turn Autosave off or just increase the amount of time or number of steps that autosave is triggered.
Why can it just not do that?

In any case why does it have to interfere with a command in progress, that is just plain stupid. I mean something that is supposed to provide you with data security stuffing up work you are currently working on!

Thanks for your level headed responses to all this.
I shall try your suggestion. I have now let off my steam.
