Constant 'random' refreshing.

Seemingly at random, usually when I am not working with archicad I get a little hour glass symbol, and then the whole of archicad momentarily refreshes, like I am switching between applications, but of course I am not.
Does anyone have an answer to how I can stop this? It does actually interrupt partially completed commands, like drag a copy.
Frustratingly,
Roolio

God what a nuisance that is, have set it to 30 seconds, I'd rather lose work than have that happen all the time.
Why can it just

Why can it justnotdo that?
also - you could look at changing your autosave settings to something with a longer gap (every 30 steps or 5 minutes?)
why is it bothering you so much? how long does it take? normally it's a split second for me . . .

Why can it just not do that?
Cheers,

I think that the max you can do is 15 seconds because I set it to 30 and it changed it to 15.
In any case why does it have to interfere with a command in progress, that is just plain stupid. I mean something that is supposed to provide you with data security stuffing up work you are currently working on!
Does it update the database in the PLN file rather than re-saving the whole file? Microstation used to save every item you drew straight away without making the whole program refresh in front of you.
Oh the humanity!

keep autosave on, but set it to save every 15 steps in the main autosave settings rather than the autosave kick-in delay settings . . . see how you go with that.

Thanks for your level headed responses to all this.

It shouldn't be autosaving (no matter what the settings) untill there is a pause in activity (i.e. you stop doing anything for a couple of seconds.
But you mentioned you got the hourglass symbol?
I always thought the autosave looked like a little bulldozer (on PC anyway) - unless this has changed in V9.0
So maybe this is not your problem after all?
Barry.
