File Merge not working

A new problem has just come up. I work on AC 16 on a MacPro. When I try the File>file special> Merge, the merge appears to start, then fails. A similar issue comes when i try to copy/paste from one copy of AC 16 to another. I've reopened AC, and rebooted the computer. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? I recently updated to Mavericks, but I don't think it happened at the same time.

Have you tried clearing the cache folders? You can find where they are in the work environment settings.
