Functionality Loss

When running ARchiCAD11 I am finding that the functionality of some tools drops off after a period of time. For example, I can select the measure tool but it will show no data. The only solution I have found is to quit and restart ArchiCad. I am having to do this every 20 minutes for similar reasons.

Has anyone else solved this type of problem?

I have exactly the same problem.
After working on AC11 for about 30 minutes the tracker disappears. eg. It doesn't appear when using the measure tool or trying to input relative co-ordinates to move objects etc. At first I thought I had somehow turned off the tracker, but it has happened 6 or 7 times now.
The only way to get the tracker back is to shut down AC and restart it.

I also often have freezes, again the only solution is to ctrl alt del and shut Archicad down via task manager.

I'm using a solo licence with a dongle on windows XP and bought ArchiCad this month.

I've encountered similar behavior, with other tools, which was resolved by tinkering with my video card drivers. Check to see if you're using the recommended driver here:

Or try installing the latest driver for your card.
I've had this problem, too, and mucked around with various video card drivers without much success. I have recently tried turning off DirectX, and haven't had the problem recur yet, but it may be too soon to tell if that's really the cure. However, if you want to try this, instructions are on the ArchicadWiki site (search for DirectX) and do the registry edit. I haven't noticed any significant slowdown in 2D.
