With respect to ArchiCAD 9.0 System Requirements,
Can anyone confirm that the following graphic card is compatible.
NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 Ultra with 64MB DDR SDRAM with AGP 8X support .
(As in the just released G5 iMac www.apple.com/imac )

Received and set-up a new 20-inch widescreen G5 iMac this past week and it certainly works fine in ArchiCAD 8.1 (full report on speed impressions withheld as I wait for my 3rd party 2GB RAM upgrade kit to arrive... running with only 256MB RAM and this is affecting overall system performance).

I suspect that AC 9 will be fine but cannot confirm yet as my ordered upgraded from GSCNE has not yet arrived (next week?). I recall seeing a post from a beta-tester that stated 64MB of VRAM was OK and the nVIDIA GeForce FX 5200X Ultra, while initially released back in early-2003, still packs a bit of punch.

Anyone else have first-hand experience with this combination yet?

I am looking to buy an iMac G5 for home, and will get 1Gb of RAM.
I was just wondering how the machine is performing, as the G5 tower looks like a more futureproof option, certainly for the video card, but at an extra $1400 (without a monitor) is a lot more.

The future proofing was my main concern when I posted the question.
These are the apparent ArchiCAD 9.0 System Requirements.

Required Hardware:
PC: P4 or Compatible Minimum: 512 MB Recommended: 1 GB
Mac: Minimum: Power Macintosh G4 1 GHz Recommended: Power Macintosh G5 1,8 GHz
Professional OpenGL video card with 64 MB RAM

Note also, since my orignal posting Apple has re-realeased a single G5 1.8Ghz PowerMac. At least the video card can be upgraded.

I decided to get a Dualie myself.
