Problem with 3D view in secondary monitor

Hi there,

I'm having a problem with the Archicad 3D view in my secondary monitor. I am using a laptop with an extended desktop onto a secondary monitor. In my laptop screen I have no problems, but when I move the Archicad window into the secondary monitor, everything functions fine except in 3D view... when I am actively orbiting the display is fine but as soon as I stop the 3D view goes to random gibberish (see attached screenshot). Interestingly, if I change my monitor settings to a "cloned display" configuration I don't have the problem... the 3D view works fine on both my laptop and secondary monitor.

Also I have no problems watching several different types of video formats/softwares on both monitors. I have also tried two different secondary monitors (the one mentioned below and a ViewSonic model) but I experienced the same problem with both.

I suspect this is a graphic card problem but I'm not sure. Can anyone recommend specific settings I might try to adjust to make it work?

My hardware/software:
Archicad SE 2010
Laptop ASUS A8J, 2GB RAM, Windows XP Media Ed,
Graphics: ATI Mobility Radeon X1700;
Screen:14" WXGA 1440 x 900, 60 Hz refresh rate
Secondary Monitor: Dell E193FPc, 1280 x 1024, 60 Hz (I tried different refresh rates but to no avail)
