Problems with 3D window

Hi guys and girls,

I'm mew to this forum so bare with me if I'm not as clued up on the forum as most are.

I'm experiencing a problem in the 3D view with AC16. I had downloaded some IFC walls from the nbs library. Ever since my 3D viewer has been missing some of the model when I scroll around in the viewer. As I scroll closer to the building the walls and slabs seem to be cut by a white plane but when I scroll out the building is all there. I've downloaded hotfix 3 3487 but that seems to be of no help.

It could be the old "clipping plane of doom". Check out this Archicad Wiki article and see if you get any answers.
I don't believe that's the problem he's experiencing.

I had this problem a while back as well on ArchiCAD 16, and technically it's not really a problem as much as it is a quirky default setting of the display/grid.

Re-set your grid density to something less concentrated.
In the main menu under View > Grid options > Grids and Background choose larger increments for the grid lines and change the background colour (and opacity) and grid line colour if necessary and it should display fine again.

Now if I could just figure out what the problem is with my area select.
