Problems with Video Display on a new Aluminum iMac

I have had this happen on two different IMacs and only when we run AC 11.

It seems to be triggered by Itunes running at the same time.

Has anyone else witnessed this before? Any suggestions?

Hm, the-other-guy-in-the-office-on-Leopard (he's got the problem) ran SU Friday and it popped up there, he's quite sure. He was fully updated the week before, so I don't know why a February item wouldn't have come up then.

I just noticed on Apple's website-the 24" iMac now offers nvidia 512 video card. Also, 3.06 processor. Sounds very tempting to someone like me who has been wanting to make the switch over. Can those who already bought with the ATI switch cards, or is this not possible on the iMac?

It is not like these all-in-one machines have slots for swapping cards.

Apparently my imac does not need that update.
I have an aluminium iMac with the same card and the same problem.
Even with the latest updates via software update and attempting to download the install file directly, I have the problem still.

It appears to happen under general prolonged load of the 3D window.
I have just checked my settings, and the suggested solution of turning off hardware acceleration in the 3D window, is already off, so that is not the solution.
Cheers,

Karl Barker.

gkmethy's solution doesn't work for me either.

If have the latest software updates / firmware running and every AC drawing have hardware accelaration turned off : the problem still occurs.

Before only AC seemed to be affected. Now I have other applications and even Finder corrupted when leaving the 3D window...

Does anyone know of any video drivers for MakBook Pro 'ATI Radeon X1600' ?

There is a graphics Update coming in 10.5.3, maybe it will help.

Sorry to report that the issue persists in OSX 10.5.3. I just got it. Archicad was in the background, not visible. It's a graphics driver thing. No updates seem to be available.

I had been working for months without any problems. Then suddenly, I get 3 crashes in two days.

Does anyone know if a fix to this is coming or not?

Does anybody know if the ATI graphics issue is fixed by the 10.5.4 update? (There is no mention of it in the support docs)
