!Restored: ArchiCAD 10 installation issue - disk space

Anonymous
Not applicable
I'm trying to install v10 (student) in order to get a feel for the program. However, it gives me an install error: It claims I do not have enough disk space and need to clear off 331.95mb to complete the install.

I have 64.5 Gb free on the install drive...any suggestions?

You need to make the space. Perhaps you can write some older stuff to CD/DVD and get it off your hard drive. Pictures and music can take up quite a bit of room. Alternatively you can buy another hard drive or upgrade the one you have. What I usually do is buy a larger drive and an external enclosure, upgrade my internal drive, and put the old one in the enclosure as a backup or portable.

edit:

Oops! My mistake, I read to quickly and was thinking 64MB not GB.

Could it be a permissions problem?

64 Gig should be enough space ''

Perhaps it is trying to install onto a smaller partition?

Good suggestions, except I am running as admnstrator, so permissions are not the issue (in fact, this is coming at the tail end of a complete system reinstallation), and there is only one partition on the drive.

BTW. win XP Pro SP2 (completely patched), P4 3.2, 1 Gig ram, 75 gig SATA drive ...

...as is the case many times, I can;t explain this:

I decided to try it one more time, as if the previous 6 attempts did not count.

This time it installed flawlessly.

Go figure.

Thanks for your help & suggestions.

Your system must of just been tired from the reinstallation.
