The transition to 27.2.0 is not seamless

It's said in the update (5003) insight topic,

(There are minor differences between the Preview and the Final versions of this update, so the build numbers between the two will slightly differ. However, this won’t cause compatibility issues for those who installed the Preview version earlier; simply install the Final version of Archicad 27.2.0 Update (5003), and the transition will be seamless).

I tried to install but I got this warning window, so I think transition is not seamless.

Hi All,

Thank you for reaching out with this enquiry, it's a totally legit one.

I checked the file upload dates onto our server and apparently what happened is that some of the preview installers were replaced automatically with the final, 5003 installers a couple of weeks earlier than the official announcement yesterday, therefore it is possible that you already have downloaded the final version's installers.

If you see 5003 build (or 5004 for Solo users) in your Archicad 27, that means that you are already on the newest update and don't have install anything else until the arrival of the next Hotfix.

I hope I could clear the situation up and apologies for the misunderstanding and possible inconveniences.

Sounds to me like there should be a 5004 update.

All I see is the 5003 update, which if that is already installed I would assume that you would get the message that you see.

The release date for 5003 says yesterday (26/03/2024).

So if it does have minor updates compared to the update 5003 preview that was released a while ago, then this update should have a new build number, so it can be installed over 5003.

@Kornel Beleznai could you please look into this?

Versions 6.5 to 27
i7-10700 @ 2.9Ghz, 32GB ram, GeForce RTX 2060 (6GB), Windows 10
Lenovo Thinkpad - i7-1270P 2.20 GHz, 32GB RAM, Nvidia T550, Windows 11

I just downloaded the 5003m update again, and it is exactly the same file size as the one I downloaded a month ago.

So I assume it is exactly the same file.

It seems that the update 5004 has not been added to the update download page.

I guess the update number 5004 is for Solo version as Kornel said:

(We are pleased to inform you that the Archicad 27.2.0 Update (5003, 5004) is now available in all languages for both Full and Solo versions.

Clearly says for both FULL & SOLO versions.

Looks like they have uploaded 5004 for solo but no for full.

I encountered the same thing earlier today and messaged Kornel to update the article to clarify how we are supposed to install a "new" 5003 on top of an "old" 5003.  Hopefully in 12+ hours we may hear something.

Isn’t the whole purpose of differing builds to have differing build numbers to avoid this exact issue.. 🤦‍

My M1 Mac running the preview indicated that I needed to update but my Intel Mac didn't. So it is anyones guess…

Hi @Karl Ottenstein,

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and I appreciate your effort.

But I’m sorry I know you’re A MODERATOR but that doesn’t let you take decisions on behalf of me.

For me I can’t accept @Kornel Beleznai‘s reply as a solution and I was waiting until I see some. Corrective actions,

1) A reflection on the original post in the insights section.

2) Also here’s a reply from @Eduardo Rolon I’m sure you’ve read it, so how M1 Mac asks for updating while Intel Mac & Windows (mine) didn’t?

F4A2B91E-B9D3-4E5C-976A-947FFDBFEE94.jpeg

3) And really Kornel didn’t mention how to prove that we’re actually running the final update not the preview (I’m sure he’s right but accepting a solution requires more clarification & modification not only apologies).
