archicad interrupted logout

anyone else notice, if you walk away from your computer for an hour or two, particularly on mac when it tries to 'go to sleep', it tries to shut down archicad? I've also left ac open over night (yeah, I know thats bad, and I don't take my own advice on this and so many other things) to find that ac is closed the following morning, with no bug report or crash recovery...

There was an issue a few years ago where Archciad crashed every time a mac went to sleep. That was an identified bug that got fixed. Sounds like this is a similar issue.  Back then (2020/2021? and Archicad 23/24?) it was related to a video card issue. Maybe it's a similar bug.

I'll sometimes leave files open for days on end because I'm always coming and going from my computer. Archicad should not be crashing just because we walk away or close the laptop lid.

its likely similar to the missing model view option bug that was 'fixed'... it still pops up

Hi @Patrick M,

Thank you very much for reporting this and for explaining the behaviour in detail. As others have mentioned, we have seen a similar issue related to video cards before, although it was not identical to the one you described.

To help you further, we would kindly like to ask you to reach out to your local support or reseller: https://www.graphisoft.com/en-at/contact/sales/

Through that channel we can investigate the issue in more detail and collect the necessary project and machine information.

Thank you for your understanding.

Kind regards,

Márton Szabó

Right on cue, this happened to me again today. No change in network, just close the lid, come back a couple days later (after holiday weekend), open lid to find the crash report. I will add that after restarting Archicad my teamwork project opens in offline mode. This is also common.

I will send this Graphisoft Tech Support today.

in this instance, my computer did not even "sleep". Laptop was open, I simply left to take my kid to a dentist appointment. was gone about an hour and a half. Came back; screen saver not on, computer not asleep. But archicad seems to have been attempting to shut down/log out.

That doesn't look like Archicad trying to shut down.

It looks like your operating system trying to shut down, but it can't because Archicad is open.

I'd be looking in your operating system settings.

yesterday, worked 4 hours, took a lunch break... came back and didn't notice the file had closed/quit. opened the file today, all work was gone. My error in not saving. I was certain I had, but I guess not. No reason to expect the is 100% bug and not at least 15% user error.

There was not even an AutoSave file you could open?

There is an acknowledged bug causing wake-from sleep crashes. So maybe stop blaming users or their operating systems. Most of us know when it's Archicad that's causing our problems.

I received some good tech support from Graphisoft on this issue. Find my report here:
