future MacOS version compatibility warning

I thought AC29 was already fully Apple Silicon compatible, but a macOS system notification just arrived saying otherwise.

there is a known issue between AC29 and the most recent OS... it's not a silicon/intel issue, it's an issue with the tracker and input in the most recent macOS... I haven't tested the OS update yet, but will be doing that later this week

If you are receiving the notification, it's possible that you may be using the intel version of Archicad on an Apple silicon mac.

I feel a bit offended by this response, of course I’m using the Apple Silicon version.

Thank you for clarifying, and I’m sorry my previous reply came across that way. My reply was meant as a general troubleshooting starting point, not as an assumption that you had installed the wrong version of Archicad. As mentioned in the article previously shared, this macOS warning is usually triggered when an Intel-based application or component is being run through Rosetta 2 (used on an Apple silicon mac), which is why I pointed to that possibility first.

If you are already using the Apple silicon version of Archicad 29, the next thing to check would be whether another related component is still Intel-based, such as an add-on, or background process.

While Archicad is open, you can check for background processes by opening the Activity Monitor app, and right clicking the column header above the process list and enabling the “Kind” column. If Archicad shows as “Apple,” but another Archicad related item shows as “Intel” that may help identify what is triggering the notification.

If Archicad itself shows as “Intel,” then the installed application is running through Rosetta 2, and reinstalling the Apple silicon version of Archicad would be the recommended next step.

One important thing to note is that this message does not necessarily indicate an immediate issue with Archicad as of today. It is an informational macOS warning that Apple plans to end support for Intel-based applications in a future macOS version. As of the current macOS versions, Intel-based applications can still run through Rosetta 2, but it is a good idea to identify which application or components are triggering the warning.
