Archicad 22 was announced on May 2, 2018. Archicad 22 is focused on improving the architectural design and documentation workflow for building façades. In addition, it introduces significant improvements to its construction modeling, information management, and 2D performance.

Archicad’s remastered Façade Design workflow provides a flexible design environment for architects to create external or internal façades and elevations using modular structures and hierarchical, easily customizable patterns while ensuring adherence to local requirements for documenting and listing.
All documentation standards are fulfilled thanks to the customizable, scale-sensitive representation at any level of detail. Element schedules provide very accurate lists of all details of the created frames, mullions, or even accessories. Algorithmic design workflows are also supported, thanks to the improved Archicad-Grasshopper Connection tool. Designers can use any set of 2D lines to start assembling Curtain Wall Patterns on the Grasshopper Canvas and manage all sub-elements, then create astonishing façades in Archicad using algorithmic design definitions.
Parametric Profiles

Archicad 22’s Parametric Profile Editor combines the power of parametric design with the freedom of graphical profile creation.
Create more intelligent Profiles for Walls, Beams, and Columns, by defining parametric edges in the Profile Editor. This will allow the offset of the individual or multiple edges centrally for the Profile Attribute or at the instance level – either graphically or via element settings. Thanks to so-called "Custom Geometry Modifiers," architects can use one Profile to describe several different custom wall, column and beam geometries. By adjusting the dimensions of the Parametric Custom Profile’s skins, the same Profile can be fit into several different details in the project. The height of the layers of composite structures, for example, can now be adjusted individually.
Expression Defined Property Values

Archicad 22 allows you to use logical expressions to derive new properties and property values that depend on the element’s own parameters. This new function greatly enriches the information – or “I” component – of BIM. Its automatic workflow lets you define any calculation rule as an element property value and update it automatically, without time-consuming and error-prone manual data entry.
The results can be used in Archicad for tagging or filtering elements and presented in any graphical, tabular or model output, governed by mathematical, logical and text handling operations – like the functions found in standard spreadsheet programs. Property values containing a valid URL will become a live URL hyperlink in the Interactive Schedule, providing quick access to any connected website or online data.
Faster & smoother 2D navigation

Archicad 22 introduces significant performance improvements, focusing on a smooth and truly responsive 2D panning and zooming navigation experience for projects of any size.
Generation of complex element fills, cut- and cover surfaces are “GPU-accelerated”, performed by the computer graphics processing unit. Multiple cores of the computer’s CPU are further enhanced with a patent pending algorithm to utilize the changing needs of continuous – panning or zooming – navigation in the background.

Custom Graphical Label
Select any combination of drawing primitives (lines, arcs, polylines), plus Text Blocks (including Element-related Autotexts), then save and use them as a Label.
Import and Export Archicad Element Properties via IFC
Archicad 22 has improved the quality and precision of exported Component and Material information to IFC2x3 and IFC4. This is important to create schedules, calculations and cost estimates based on data related to Building Materials, individual Composite Skins, and Complex Profile parts.
Rhino–Grasshopper–Archicad Toolset
The new "De-Constructor" function enables you to use a reversed data workflow and channel Archicad element data to the Rhino-Grasshopper platform. As a result, architects can perform design optimization and validation using the vast set of Grasshopper and Rhino extensions.
High-Resolution Support on Windows 10
The representation of fine details of the Archicad icons, lines, texts and other graphic user interface elements now produce a much sharper look. Ultra-high – 4K and 5K – resolution monitor screens offer much sharper display of details.
Stair and Railing Enhancements
Archicad 21’s flagship feature has been improved based on feedback from architects. The new Stair and Rail enhancements allow you to visualize and use Stair Headroom for collision detection. Stair 2D documentation improvements help maintain country-specific representation standards. New developments for sloped Railings and Railing Panels allow more accurate modeling.
Automatic Element Reservation in Teamwork
It only takes a fraction of a second to reserve elements in Teamwork, even in the case of large element selection sets. This new feature is available only with a GRAPHISOFT BIMcloud User License.

Before Installing
Archicad is available on both Windows and Mac platforms. Data exchange between the two platforms is fully supported through compatible file formats and collaboration methods such as Teamwork, so they can be used even in mixed environments. The System Requirements for our products can be found

License types
Archicad 22 can be activated using one of several
license types:
- Commercial license requires a CodeMeter Hardware-based or Software-based protection key
- Trial license is available through http://myarchicad.com. A fully functional 30-day serial number can be obtained after the registration.
- Demo version requires neither a protection key nor a serial number. All save/export options are disabled but printing is possible. Archicad can be downloaded from http://www.graphisoft.com/downloads.
- Education license is available through http://myarchicad.com. A 1-year serial number is available upon approval.
- Pay-Per-use (PPU) license requires a CodeMeter Hardware-based protection key. A PPU license lets you run Archicad for the number of hours purchased (not available on all markets).
- Rental license requires a CodeMeter Hardware-based protection key. A Rental license lets you run Archicad for 1, 3, 6, or 12 calendar months.
- Enhanced Rental license requires a CodeMeter Hardware-based or Software-based protection key. An Enhanced Rental license lets you run Archicad for 1, 3, 6, or 12 calendar months.
- License Borrowing An Archicad Commercial license may be borrowed from a multi-license CodeMeter Hardware-based or Software-based protection key and later returned for subsequent use by another user.
- Subscription license requires a Software-based protection key. A Subscription license lets you run Archicad for 1 or 12 calendar months and it is automatically extended until the customer opts-out (not available on all markets).
