I have saved an object from a 2D using the save selection but I am puzzled why the dashed lines are in solid line. Here's the screenshot...the right is the 'object'.

If you select the placed new Object and go to its Settings Dialog, in the Floor Plan and Section panel, is the "Override Object's Line Types" checkbox checked?
Does it work if you uncheck it?
