3D tree object beyond parameters

I would like to know why this happens, when I use a tree object from the Archicad library and resize it, the leaves are left floating far from the trunk and branches and well beyond the dimensions given.
For example, I have a tree here that is 850x850mm, and shows this in plan, but in 3D the leaves extend to up to 1500mm from the trunk (so tree is actually 3m in diameter)
Parameters:
density in % 40
resolution of crown 70
Diam of crown 80
res of leaves 10
diam of leaves 50

Have you tried ArchiTree BROAD 1.0 from the object depository (sitework > garden)? Maybe it will suit your needs better. http://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/object_depository.php?

It's a tree, I don't expect precise dimensions (now if it was that way for Columns, different story). You can always decrease the size to get a smaller diameter.

Another option is to place the tree/bush on a layer that is visible for the exterior rendering, but hidden for interior views, if you are not showing both at the same time (like with BIMx).

I had started to put 3d trees on a seperate layer, and 2d trees in plan, just because I need the correct width of the tree in plan.
