Now, I need to make changes to the object. I explode it but it lost all it's 3d information......so I had to redo the 3d object with the changes and save it to replace the previous object.
Ok, this seems rather silly process. Is there another way which I don't have to redo the object from scratch ?

Thanks David.....that's exactly what I'm doing to save them to another layer so I can make changes and resave to the same name to replace the part....but I would think there should be a feature that a part can be edited. I wonder if this is work in progress for the next version or there's a reason not to have it.

An improved, graphic library part editor is a longstanding wish. Some valiant efforts have been made by third parties (White Rabbit and Black Turtle were two if I recall correctly) but nothing official from GS yet.

Llian,
If you want to learn the GDL language then you can alter the scripts of the object you save.
You could also make it more user friendly by adding parameters that can be adjusted by the user.
But it is probably easier to just change your original model elements and "save" over the object you created.
Barry.
