Archicad 29 MEP objects missing

Hi

In my Archicad 29 my MEP objects are not visible / are missing. Should I install some extra library for that reason??

Instead I have just a black dot - usually a symbol when a library's missing

What should I do with it? Thank you

I am assuming this is a file from an old version?

If so you need to load the old MEP library from that version.

Thank you for your help.

The issue was that the file is from Archicad version 27, but I hadn’t drawn anything with the MEP Tools there, so I didn’t realize that I still needed to load the old library.

If you are opening an old file in 28 or 29, just load the old libraries and keep working.

Don't load the new global libraries as well.

If you are starting a new file in 28 or 29, use a new template and load only the global library packs.

I have a similar problem.
I opened a project in version 29 that contains map elements. Now I can't edit or delete them. They appear but are inactive. How can I fix this?

Similar but different.

MEP is no longer included with 29 unless you have a collaboration subscription (if I am not mistaken).

I think you can see the MEP objects but can't use the MEP features.

I assume you do not have a cloud license or you are using Archicad Studio?

Hi, Barry!
I have a similar problem as well. I can place new MEP elements, but the existing MEP elements are inactive in my model. I cannot even delete then directly. Workabound was to delete the layer and all contents.

Do you have any reading material on this change in MEP? It being inactive, and unable to delete is a challenge.

So you are saying you can place new MEP objects and they work as you expect?

But old MEP objects are not working?

If the old MEP objects are not version 28/29, do you have the correct MEP libraries loaded.I am not sure if the old MEP object from previous versions will work in 28/29 unless the old libraries are loaded.

But I am not a MEP user, so am not 100% sure.

I just know it is a completely new MEP system in 28/29.

Thanks for the reply, Barry.

Its is correct that i can place new MEP objects that works, it is from the old MEP libraries. It seems all object that was placed in the project in older versions became inactive once opned in AC29. This exact example was a project developed in AC28, now opned and saved in AC29.

It is problematic that the old MEP objects cannot be deleted. Odd behaviour. I an not an MEP user either, but have a few MEP objects placed in projects for coordination.
